Coquina – Transom

I found some nice fine grain book matched mahogany to make the transom. As the transom will be varnished, this should work out nicely. After careful cuts of the mating surface they were splined and epoxied. Minor planing and sanding brought them flat.

A full size drawing of the transom profiles includes the notches for the plank ends. The first cut was wide of the profile and a rasp, file and sandpaper brought it down to the line.
