Dyer Midget Restoration

Only the hull and bronze hardware were salvageable. The centerboard trunk and mast step seemed to be an add at some unknown date. It seems restorable. Following is the restoration plan:

I could do much of this work with wood, paint, and fillers I have on hand. However, the oak sheer clamps and the rub rails will be a challenge. I toyed with the idea that I could steam-bend oak (original spec) for the shear clamps and rub rails until I found the Dinghy Shop. They offer a kit of pre-bent oak clamps and rails. They also have seats and many other parts. In order to save time and effort, I decided to order the rails and clamps and a center seat.

I hauled it into the basement and began work while I waited for the Dinghy Shop delivery.
